Chinese Qing Qianlong Dehua Blanc-de-Chine Guanyin
item#: 1239322
price: SOLD
Chinese Qing dynasty Qianlong period Dehua porcelain blanc-de-chine Guanyin dressed in a long flowing robe and adorned with a beaded necklace. The figure is seated upon a recumbent "hou" (Buddhist lion-like creature) and she holds a ruyi scepter. Her elegant face has downcast eyes. A faintly visible impressed gourd form seal mark is on the back of her robe. A custom wood stand is included. The glaze is a warm, creamy, glossy ivory tone. 18th century or earlier. Slightly over 5” high, excluding the stand. The figure is in excellent overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The detailing is much finer and crisper than the images suggest. There is a small, typical production crack in the interior. This figure is from a Sun City, Arizona collection. It was purchased in China in 1945 and has been in the same family since that time.
