Chinese Qing dynasty Tongzhi mark and period 5-petalled foliate form porcelain footed bowl decorated on the exterior with alternating black and red calligraphic inscriptions set against a white porcelain ground. The bowl has a turquoise interior and gilt at the rim. A short foliate form base is decorated with a band of red scrolls. The turquoise glazed deep recessed base holds an iron-red zhuanshu 6-character Tongzhi mark on a square white ground. The foot is unglazed. 7 1/4” diameter x 3 1/4” high. 1862-1874. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is wear to the interior and gilt rim consistent with its age and use. From an old Scottsdale, Arizona collection.
