item#: 1340160
price: SOLD
Tall Chinese Qing dynasty baluster form porcelain vase covered overall with a thick red Langyao (also called sang-de-boeuf or oxblood) glaze that thins to white at the rim, drips down into the interior top of the trumpet mouth, and pools unevenly around the irregular foot rim. The base is raised upon a set-in foot. A grayish white crackled glaze base is visible in the interior and on the recessed base. The glaze is permeated by craquelure and tiny bubbles that impart a somewhat golden textural appearance to the glaze (see enlargements). 22” high. 19th century. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This vase is from an old Scottsdale, Arizona collection.
