Japanese limited edition sosaku hanga “kappa-ban” (stencil print) by Yoshitoshi Mori (1898-1992) depicting a samurai with two swords titled “Akazaya” (Red Sheath). The print is pencil-signed “Yoshitoshi Mori,” numbered 31/70, and dated ’81 in the lower margin. The artist’s red seal is above the signature. The visible paper size is 23”V x 16 3/4”H (frame: 31”H x 24”V). Appears to be in very good overall condition. The print is framed in the original Kanda Gallery frame. The image is illustrated as plate 456 in a catalogue published by the artist in 1985 titled “Mori Yoshitoshi Kappa-ban” which features prints dated between 1977-1985. This print was purchased in Japan and is from the Tucson, Arizona collection of a former American expatriate.
