Chinese Qing Guangxu Hawthorn Crocus Vase Prunus Qianlong Mark
item#: 1370392
price: SOLD
Chinese late Qing dynasty Guangxu period porcelain crocus vase with five lobes around a central cylindrical neck terminating in a bulb, decorated in the Hawthorn pattern with white branches of prunus blossoms set against a cobalt “cracked ice” ground. The base bears an apocryphal four-character Qianlong mark. Late 19th century. 10” high x about 7” diameter. Heavily potted. Very good overall condition with characteristic burst glaze bubbles on the five lobe openings and the top bulb edges. A small, professionally executed restoration was made to a hairline crack on the neck. It is invisible both to the eye and under black light.
