Japanese woodblock print depicting a lone leafless tree at dusk set against a gold leaf background titled "Evening View (Dusk)" by Joichi Hoshi (1913-1979). Pencil-signed "Joichi Hoshi" and dated '77 at the lower right, with the artist's square red seal above. Pencil-titled in kanji at the lower left and numbered 43/99. A penciled inscription on the upper back reads "8408 S-1 12/12" and the original price of 100,000 yen is at the bottom of the back. Paper measures just under 25" x 34 1/4" (image size just under 21 3/4" x 31 1/8"). Very good clean overall condition. There are two tiny pieces of tape to the top back with some slight distressing of paper visible on the front margin edge at the taped areas. The print is not quite as bright at the images suggest. This print is from an Arizona collection. It was purchased in Japan directly from the Kato Gallery at the time of production.
