Large Chinese Qing dynasty blue and white porcelain basin with a central interior roundel decorated in the Canton style with a figure in a traditional pavilion in a landscape scene surrounded by water boats and a bridge. Hanging jewels extend around the circumference of the well and a border is along the rim. Three bamboo sprays are on the exterior. The unglazed base is flat. 19th century. 13 1/4" diameter x 4 1/2" high. Very good overall condition with typical minor production imperfections. There is one small spot on the rim where the glaze did not cover. Professional restorations were made to an old browned hairline crack along the side. This does not show up under black light and is invisible to the eye, but the basin should not be used to hold food or liquids.
