Chinese Qing dynasty rectangular form hardwood display stand with inset top, short waist with fine applied carved decorative elements, and apron carved with a horned monster head at the center. The four elephant-head form cabriole legs are attached by the curling trunk to a humpback stretcher raised on short tab feet. Woods are mixed with the apron, legs, and stretcher possibly zitan wood. 19th century or earlier. 11 3/4" wide x 8 7/8" deep x 4 3/4” high; weight: just under 2 lb. Minor cracks and shrinkage evident. There are losses to the fine applied carved wood decorative elements on the waist and there are possible old repairs.
