Chinese Ming Dynasty Longquan Celadon Dish Brush Washer
item#: 1495786
price: SOLD
Chinese Ming dynasty Longquan celadon dish or brush washer decorated with a carved flower at the center. The foot rim is glazed, and the unglazed base has burnt red from firing. 4 3/4” diameter x 1 3/8” high. Circa 15th to 16th century. Very good overall condition with only typical minor wear and fine scratches to the glaze. There is a small production anomaly to the rim and another to the back of the dish. The flaw on the back looks like a chip or small indent but was filled with celadon glaze during production (see images). From the estate of a former American expatriate to Guangzhou and Beijing from 1983 to 1987.
