Chinese clair-de-lune glazed vase with a lavender tint decorated on the compressed globular form body in raised white slip archaistic dragon roundels among scrolling foliage. The tall cylindrical neck ends in a wide foliate form mouth and is flanked by a pair of dragon handles. The rectangular recessed base holds an impressed six-character kaishu Yongzheng mark. 9” high x about 5” across. Likely Qing to Republic period (19th to early 20th century). Good overall condition. There are old brown repaired cracks in several places on each dragon handle (see images). From the estate of Gerhard Lohmeier, a Diplomat at the German Embassy in Beijing from 1985 to 1989.
